Who Am I?

My name is Xavier Auger-Mailhot. I am a Game Programmer with a large interest in Game Design and creating interesting experiences.

Like many of my generation, I started working with games because of my love of the media. However, as I grow through personal projects and professional work, I have started to recognize my true interest in the field: I create to make something that will mark the user, player or bystander in some way or an other.

Be it helping people with physical disabilities learn to use their new prosthetic, help train the doctors of tomorrow or simply help players connect with other like minded people, I have a strong belief that games can and should be used to make a change in this world.

As a Software Developer at OssimTech, I got to work with surgeons and teammates that believed in the good serious gaming can achieve in the world, in this case, virtualizing parts of the medical curriculum, reducing the needs for cadavers in the training of a surgeon.
